On the morning of September 15, 2026, at approximately 6 a.m., my family’s life changed completely.

My parents were on their way to work, just as they are every morning, when they were detained by ICE during a raid on Quacco Road in Savannah, Georgia. My father was driving his work truck and trailer and provided his Georgia driver’s license. He has legal authorization to work in the United States and a valid work permit, yet he was still taken into custody and is currently being held at the Folkston ICE Detention Center in Folkston, Georgia.

For anyone who knows my father, you know how incredibly hardworking he is. He has spent his life working to provide for his family, and that morning was no different. He was up before sunrise and on his way to another day of work when he was detained. He is a father, a husband, and someone our family depends on in more ways than I can put into words. Having him suddenly taken away from us has left an absence in our family that extends far beyond the financial impact.

As his daughter, it is incredibly difficult to describe what it feels like knowing that my dad is sitting in a detention center while we are doing everything we can from the outside to help him come home. What was an ordinary morning for our family became something we never imagined we would have to experience. I am in the one in charge of handling this situation.

We are now raising funds to cover the legal expenses for both my mother and father, including attorney fees and other costs associated with navigating their cases. These expenses have come suddenly and are more than our family can handle alone, especially with the loss of income this situation has caused.
