I never thought I would have to write something like this, but our family is going through one of the hardest times in our lives. My dad was detained by ICE while he was coming home from work, just two houses away from our home. Two houses away from making it back to us. Since that day, our lives have not been the same.

My dad is not a criminal. He is a loving, hardworking, supportive father and also a grandpa who loves his family more than anything. He has always done everything he could for our family. He is the kind of dad and grandpa who shows up, who works hard, who makes sure we’re okay before he worries about himself. He means everything to our family, and not having him home has left a huge emptiness in our lives.

He is also a tattoo artist, and through his tattoos he has met so many people and built real connections with his clients. Many of them know he’s not just an artist — he’s someone who listens, who cares, and who puts his heart into every piece he does. His work is part of people’s stories, and he takes pride in that. His clients know the kind of person he is and the heart he has.

Right now, my mom is trying to stay strong for all of us. She is taking care of my younger sister, handling medical expenses, bills, and everything on her own while we try to figure out what to do next. Watching her carry all of this by herself has been heartbreaking. Our family is doing everything we can to stay strong, but emotionally and financially this has been overwhelming.

We are asking for help during this incredibly difficult time. Anything helps, whether it’s a donation or simply sharing this page. We just want our dad back home with us, and until then we are trying to support our family and get through this one day at a time.
