Campaign To Bring More Public Art In Ashton Court

Donation protected

Hi there, my name is Yomi and I'm fundraising to bring more public art to Ashton Court, an 850 acre estate on the outskirts of Bristol. It's  free to visit, which has helped a lot of people manage life during the lockdown. Many have shared their excitement on social media when they've stumbled across the installations placed around the estate.

First a bit of background... In 2015, I created We Are From Dust (WAFDust) - a non profit organisation dedicated to facilitate the placement and further enjoyment of Burning Man art pieces that may otherwise sit in containers for years and not be enjoyed by the public. I have a firm belief that our exhibitions not only transform the way people engage with art, but changes how they consider their daily lives.

Our inaugural UK exhibition at Ashton Court is in partnership with ArtSpace LifeSpace, and it features the following pieces: Trasparenza by Andrea Greenlees, Ohm Boy by Hugo Farmer, Boo (Purr Pod) by Paige Tashner, Zlatico by Cjay Roughgarden, and a new site specific audio installation titled "We Are From Dust" by local poet Edson Burton.

The exhibits have been enjoyed by the public throughout the lockdown, and we would like this story to continue, so please donate and help us keep the dream alive.

Hosting this exhibition has so far cost in excess of £60k, which was funded through generous donations and a small grant by Art Council England.

The money raised will be used to pay artists for the lease of their works, add other pieces to exhibition, cover our insurance costs, and help cover some administration costs.

Thank you.
