❤️ Help Moffo get medically transferred to his family❤️

I’m reaching out to family, friends, the cricket community and anyone who may be able to help our family through an incredibly difficult time.

My dad is 81 years old. Up until 3 months ago he was living independently in his home. He had to have 2 spine surgeries, heart stent, and has endured many complications post operation. He is now also suffering from major delirium and he is no longer able to live independently. He needs ongoing high-level care, and we have been working incredibly hard to find him an appropriate aged care facility on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland, where he can be close to his family. He needs and deserves daily support, advocacy and love.

The biggest hurdle now is getting Dad safely from Sydney to Queensland. No government or public organisations will transport patients interstate unless it’s a life threatening medical emergency. His private health fund doesn’t cover this either. He is not able to fly on a commercial flight due to his medical issues, so the safest and only way is by private medical transfer. Careflight has quoted us $45,000 to transport dad from a Sydney Private Hospital to an aged care facility on the Sunshine Coast.

Dad is a pensioner and simply cannot afford the cost of the medical transport required to move him such a long distance. Because of his age, health and limited mobility, this isn’t a journey he can make by ordinary transport. He needs appropriate medical assistance and supervision during the transfer.

We have explored every option we can think of to try to make this happen, but the costs are beyond what Dad can manage, and our family is already under significant financial and emotional pressure.

Having Dad closer to us would mean so much. It would allow us to be there for him, advocate for his care, visit him regularly and make sure he is supported as he moves into this next stage of his life.

We are asking for help to cover the cost of transporting Dad safely from Sydney to the Sunshine Coast. Every donation, no matter how small, will make a difference. If you aren’t in a position to donate, simply sharing this fundraiser would mean more to us than you know.

This is such a difficult thing for our family to ask, but we want to give Dad the best possible chance of being somewhere safe, comfortable and close to the people who love him.
