Help Bring Milo Home To Us
As many of you know, Mike and I decided to add to our doodle family and rescued Milo on April 26. His previous family loved him but did not have time for him. He spent all day in a crate and had only a small kennel for outside time. We brought him home and we all fell in love with him! He has free reign of our home and we take him everywhere! He loves to swim and hike and be with his “sister”, Izzy! He is quite the Velcro pup, and loves nothing more than to be snuggled up to us.
He became ill on May 31, refusing treats or food. We took him to the vet on June 2, but they had no idea what was wrong w him. On June4 (5AM) we took him to the vet ER. He has been there ever since. They have run every test and all have come back negative: a complete tick panel, Lyme, Parvo, leptospirosis, Addison’s, etc. He had had 2 ultrasounds that have revealed nothing. All of his numbers are normal but he has not eaten since May 31. He has a feeding tube to sustain him. The vets have no answer but keep hoping he will turn the corner and start to improve. He is on 3 antibiotics, incl. doxycycline , which would be the treatment for most tick or water borne disease. We go twice a day to visit him. He wags his tail and seems happy to see us, but will not eat. They do not want to release him until he eats in his own but everyday our bill grows. We are currently at $10,500 and that is before today’s ultrasound (still nothing shown) and treatments. We have grown to love Milo in all of his silly, clumsy puppy ways! Our labradoodle, Izzy, also loves him -they hit it off and have been inseparable since Day One! We promised to give him a loving home with lots of adventures and we still want to be able to do this. We are retired and are spending our retirement savings on his vet bills. Each day that he is not well enough to come home is another agonizing decision to keep trying to get him better.
Any help will be so appreciated❤️
