Help Bring Mike Home: Support His Recovery

Mike Dodge is a gem to the Niagara Community. He has spent his life caring for others, working over 40 years as an orderly/porter in the Niagara Health System. He went above and beyond to help make a hospital experience easier for thousands upon thousands of people over the years. Known as "The Hat Man with a Heart of Gold", he often wore silly hats to take people to the operating room. He was ALWAYS there for patients and their families. Now, he needs our help.

While travelling in the Dominican Republic, Mike experienced a serious medical emergency on Monday, February 3rd. Although he has insurance, there are unexpected barriers that are making his journey home and recovery more difficult. As of launching this GoFundMe, a hospital bed in Canada has not yet been secured due to lack of availability. We are working tirelessly with insurance providers, politicians, and the healthcare system to bring him home as soon as possible. We are hopeful he will be back soon, but his recovery is just beginning.

We are raising funds to help cover hidden medical expenses, travel costs for his family to be by his side, and support for his upcoming move. Any contribution—big or small—will help ensure Mike gets the care he deserves.
