Help Bring Dr Miguel Rueda to the UK to Share Groundbreaking GSRD Work
We’re reaching out to our global community of LGBTQIA+ allies, therapists, and changemakers to help bring a powerful voice to the UK.
Dr Miguel Rueda, a psychologist and tireless advocate for Gender, Sex, and Relationship Diversity (GSRD) communities in Colombia, has been invited to present his pioneering work at the inaugural GSRD Therapy Conference, hosted by Pink Therapy in London this August.
Why Miguel?
Miguel founded Pink Consultores, a Colombian LGBTQ+ mental health organisation offering affirming, culturally relevant therapy and advocacy in a region where such support is often scarce and underfunded. He works with LGBTQ+ youth, trans activists, and survivors of violence, and is deeply committed to liberation-focused therapeutic practice.
Miguel has been a friend and colleague since 2011, when he attended our first International Summer School. Later, he went on to join our Diploma in GSRD Therapy. As a Pink Therapy training programme graduate, Miguel is not only part of our international family — he’s one of its most inspiring voices. This year, he has been invited to participate in our GSRD Think Tank, a forum for faculty and alumni, to continue developing our approach and learning from one another.
He will also present at our international conference, where he will share a pioneering collaborative project between Pink Consultores and LGBTQ+ activists in Uganda. This work needs to be heard. It’s bold, intersectional, and life-saving.
✈️ What We Need
Despite our deep desire to have Miguel with us, the realities of international travel from the Global South make this problematic. The cost of airfare from Colombia to London is approximately £1200, and accommodation for the four days of the Think Tank and conference is £560. These costs are simply not feasible for a Colombian-based activist and psychologist working outside of major Western institutions.
How You Can Help
We’re seeking to raise £ 1,800 to cover Miguel’s travel and accommodation costs. Every donation — large or small — brings us closer to giving this powerful project the platform it deserves.
Your contribution will not just support one individual’s journey — it will amplify the voices of queer communities in Colombia and Uganda and help connect frontline activism with cutting-edge therapy practice.
Please donate what you can — and share widely.
Let’s build bridges, not borders. Let’s make room for all voices at the table.
Thank you for supporting queer mental health on a global scale.
With love and solidarity,
The Pink Therapy Team
