My name is Shawn, and I’m asking for help on behalf of my friend Miguel Teodoro — a hardworking husband, father, and community member who was suddenly detained by ICE while simply taking a break at work.
Miguel has lived in the United States since 2003. He and his wife are raising four wonderful children, and together they run a small lawn-care company they built from the ground up through hard work, sweat, and long days. Miguel works six days a week, and on Sundays he’s at church with his family. He has no criminal record. He is a kind, honest man who shows up for others even when he doesn’t have much himself.
I’ve known Miguel for about 4–5 years, but the moment that bonded us was when my mother was in hospice. Miguel took care of her yard for little to nothing, simply because he cared. He never asked for recognition or payment — he just showed up. That’s the kind of person he is.
Recently, during a short work break with his coworkers, Miguel was tackled and detained by ICE. Without warning, he was rushed to a detention center in Georgia, far from his family, where he is now waiting for his bond hearing. His wife and children are devastated. Their small business depends on him, and the sudden loss of income has put them in an impossible situation.
We are raising funds to help with:
• Legal fees for his bond hearing
• Travel and communication costs for his family
• Household support while he is detained
• Emergency expenses for his wife and children who lost their primary income overnight
Miguel is not a criminal. He is a father, a husband, a provider, a man of faith, and a friend who has always given more than he had. Now he needs us.
If you can donate — any amount — it would mean the world to his family and help bring Miguel home where he belongs.
Thank you for your kindness, your prayers, and your support
