hello everyone. I wanted to start off by thanking everyone who donated and shared this fundraiser for Miguel. Sadly, but thankfully, Miguel is now with his family in Mexico. His family has asked to stop the fundraiser. Thanks to all of your donations, his family was able to get the first flight from Tijuana to his hometown. Miguel is home but struggling to assimilate everything after going through traumatic maltreatment while being detained. I ask to please pray for Miguel.

Hello everyone. I am asking for my community to help raise funds for Miguel Ávalos Orozco. Miguel has lived in California for a very long time, working as a Gardener. Miguel was racially profiled and detained by ICE in the city of Lawndale on Wednesday, June 18. Miguel has no criminal history, and no warrants for his arrest. He was wrongfully detained by ICE agents. As of June 22nd, he is still detained in Los Angeles and awaiting to be transferred to a detention center. Miguel has no family in the United States; his family resides in Mexico. I have been in contact with his sister (confirmed) Mayra and she has been keeping me informed. She states their mother has been endlessly praying for her son to be released , but most importantly for him to be safe. Please help me raise funds for Miguel to be able to obtain a lawyer and be released. Thank you, God bless you!

Miguel fue discriminado racialmente y detenido por ICE en la ciudad de Lawndale el miércoles 18 de junio. Miguel no tiene antecedentes penales ni órdenes de arresto. Fue detenido injustamente por agentes de ICE. Miguel sigue detenido en Los Ángeles, esperando ser trasladado a un centro de detención. Miguel no tiene familia en Estados Unidos; su familia vive en México. He estado en contacto con su hermana (confirmado), Mayra, y ella me ha mantenido informada. Dice que su madre ha estado orando incansablemente para que liberen a su hijo, pero lo más importante, para que esté a seguro.
