Memory Foam is a student film that's a surreal comedy about memory, loss, and the things that talk back. It is directed by Alexis Chechelnitskiy, produced by Emily Pratt, with JJ Barker as the cinematographer and Harper Hollins and Davey Striggle as the editors. We aim to create a film that offers reassurance and comfort — a reminder to persevere even in the darkest moments. When Lizzy could easily give up, she chooses to stand back up, realizing she’s never truly alone. We need more films with hope as the main message, and that is what Memory Foam is about.

Synopsis: Memory Foam follows Lizzy, who seems to have it all: a successful photography career, close friends, a comfortable city apartment. Yet, something is missing — literally. She doesn’t have a couch. After she impulsively decides to quit her life’s passion, her childhood stuffed animal, Fluffy-Bunny-Uni-Kitty, comes to life — a sarcastic voice of reason who constantly pushes her buttons, helping her realize that her search for the perfect couch isn’t about the furniture itself, but the memories it holds.

Director's Statement: "Memory Foam" is one of those stories that sticks with you long after writing it. I've always loved comedy, especially when its quick, witty, and full of absurd characters you can't help but adore. There's already enough sadness in the world so why not make something that reminds us it'll all be okay?

Cinematographer's Statement: I’m really excited to be the Director of Photography for Memory Foam! This story explores memory, time, and emotion in a really intimate way, and I’m looking forward to translating that visually — finding the balance between what feels real and what feels remembered. It’s a chance to build a world that’s grounded but still dreamlike, and I can’t wait to bring that to life with the team.
