Melyssa came to the United States with her family when she was only five years old. She grew up and built her life here, and after years of waiting and hard work, she finally received her green card.

After 30 years Melyssa booked her trip to Brazil to reunite with her mother for the first time since she was 16 years old, a moment our family had anxiously waited for. What was supposed to be a beautiful and emotional reunion turned into our worst nightmare.

When Melyssa returned to the United States, she was detained by ICE and has now been held for over a month. Our family is heartbroken. Melyssa is one of the most loving, fun, and outgoing people you could ever meet. She brings light and laughter everywhere she goes, and seeing her separated from everyone she loves has been devastating for our family.

We are doing everything we can to bring her home. Donations will go directly towards her bond and attorney fees as we fight for her release and support her through this incredibly difficult time.
