Help bring Maverick home

Last week, Julie's sweet dog Maverick was attacked in their backyard by a feral cat.

Maverick was adopted last year after a long search for just the right dog to join their family. He's their running partner and new best friend. Always at their sides, providing companionship and love only a dog can give.

The bacterial infection he has as a result from the altercation has prevented him from eating and drinking on his own and has left him with necrosis of the skin under his chin and a large wound that is not healing as quickly as the veterinary staff would like to see.

He is now scheduled for surgery Tuesday to further clean out the wound and close it. The surgery is desperately needed and is imperative in order for him heal and for Julie to bring him home where he belongs.

Julie would never ask for help, she's too proud for that. But I know how much this sweet dog means to her and the boys and I love them and just want to help ease the financial burden this is causing.

The costs of the extensive treatments that he has had and the surgery this week have grown so quickly and is overwhelming. Needless to say, this family loves their dog and just wants him healthy and back home. They are doing everything they can to pay for his care but are needing our help.

Julie and her sons have always been there to support their family, friends and community when they can and are always the first to lend a hand.
