Hi there, my name is Richard.
I am reaching out to share some deeply personal news and seek your support during this challenging time.
My mother, Mama Myrna, arrived in Australia to visit us and help care for her grandkids as my wife was expecting our third child. Unfortunately, just two days after her arrival, she suffered a severe stroke.
The diagnosis was a right middle cerebral artery ischaemic stroke with haemorrhagic transformation, which necessitated an immediate right hemicranectomy.
Following this, she was found to have new atrial fibrillation and began receiving appropriate medical therapy.
Mama Myrna has been hospitalized for nearly two months now, and once she undergoes the planned cranioplasty and is medically cleared, she will be expected to return to the Philippines.
She wishes to be cared for by our family back in the Philippines.
The treating medical team has recommended that she be transported via air ambulance or with a medical escort to ensure her safe repatriation.
We are now in the process of raising funds to cover the significant costs associated with her medical repatriation.
Any assistance or support you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for taking the time to read our story and for any help you can offer.
