Help bring Luisa to New Bern!

Wanna help a fantastic Berlin actor break into American film?

I'm Bill Hand, not Steven Spielberg, but still, I dabble seriously in film and am excited at the opportunity to have an established, successful actor agreeing to be on my set! But I need your help...

I am the president of North Carolina History Theater (NCHT) and a participant (from writer to performer to producer and director) of a number of short film projects. Recently I received a North Carolina Arts Council Support Grant toward shooting a film version of August Strindberg's short play, "The Stronger." It's a really challenging piece for two great female actors!

Now here's the thing: we met Luisa Wietzorek of Berlin when she lived with us as a student, and I saw then what a fine actress she was. I've followed her career in Germany since and she's fantastic! The problem? My grant is small and airline tickets are not. We can't afford to fly a European in-- but as a small film producer, it would be amazing to have not only her talent--but to have an established actress in the film!

Can you help fly her over here? Between the flight and associated costs, it will run to about $1,000. Anything we raise over that will help promote the film through festivals and marketing, and it will likely show up on the NCHT website as well.
