My name is Robert, and I am reaching out for help to bring my mother, Loria Lisa Painter, home. She was born on August 18, 1965, and recently passed away after a courageous battle with stage 4 lung cancer and COPD. Unfortunately, my mother did not have any life insurance, and we were unable to afford a funeral. We chose cremation, and while Medicaid was able to help with some of the costs, there is still a remaining balance that must be paid before I can receive her ashes. On top of this, my mother's storage unit—filled with her personal belongings—is past due, and I simply do not have the funds to pay for it and recover her things. It breaks my heart to think I might lose not only her ashes, but also the memories and keepsakes she left behind.
