Help Bring Little Ed Sheeran Home to the UK
Hi everyone,
We’re raising funds to help bring our rescue kitten, Ed Sheeran, from Pakistan to the UK — so he can finally have the safe, loving life he fought so hard for.
We’ve been living in Pakistan for work for the past three years. In June this year, we heard faint cries coming from under our carport one night. When I crept outside, I found two tiny kittens — scared, weak, and clearly abandoned. We live by a busy road, and it seemed likely their mum had been run over.
We already have our dog, Ada, and couldn’t bring the kittens inside due to the risk of disease, so I made them a cosy bed out of a cardboard box and began feeding them. I named the ginger and white one Ed Sheeran, and his shy little sister Smoky — names that made my husband laugh! Despite my efforts to find them homes through local groups, nobody could take them in. Sadly, there are thousands of stray cats here and very few charities able to help.
So we did what we could — feeding them daily, keeping them safe from the traffic, and watching them grow from frightened scraps into happy little cats.
Then in early October, disaster struck. Ed Sheeran stopped eating and hid himself in the bushes. He was so sick and weak that I rushed him to the vet, where he was diagnosed with Feline Panleukopenia Virus — a deadly illness for kittens. The vet warned his chances were slim. He was placed on drips and fed through a tube. We prepared for the worst.
While Ed fought for his life, his sister Smoky stopped eating too — not sick, just terrified and grieving. Then one day she disappeared. We searched for two days, but she never returned. Our hearts broke.
That same day, we got the news that Ed was going to survive. Our brave boy had made it. It was bittersweet — joy for his recovery, heartbreak for Smoky. Since then, Ed has slowly regained his strength, spending hours curled up on my lap. For such a tiny cat, he’s made of pure courage and love.
We’ll be returning to the UK in April 2026, and we can’t bear the thought of leaving him behind. While we can’t guarantee a forever home with us due to work, we already have loving families in the UK willing to give Ed the home he truly deserves.
The cost of bringing a cat home from Pakistan is high — but we’re determined to make it happen for him. Every donation, no matter how small, will help cover his travel crate, vaccinations, export paperwork, and flight costs.
Ed Sheeran is the most affectionate, gentle little cat I’ve ever met. After everything he’s been through — abandonment, illness, loss — he deserves a safe home and a warm lap for the rest of his life.
If you can help us bring him home, we’ll be forever grateful. ❤️
Thank you so much for taking the time to read our story,
Ed Sheeran, Zoe & Ben (and Ada!)
