My name is Douglas, and I am raising funds to help my wife, Lilian, who is currently being held in ICE custody while her immigration case is pending.

Lilian has a pending asylum case in the United States and has been building her life here while going through the legal immigration process. Her detention happened unexpectedly, and our priority right now is to do everything legally possible to secure her release and bring her home as soon as possible.

We have hired an immigration attorney to represent Lilian and work on her case and release. The attorney’s legal fee alone is $8,000.

In addition to these legal expenses, we may also need to pay an immigration bond if one is granted. Based on the estimate we have received, the bond could be approximately $5,000 to $10,000, although the final amount will depend on the decision made in her case.

This means that we may need between $13,000 and $18,000 just to cover the attorney’s fees and the potential immigration bond, without including other necessary expenses related to her detention and immigration case.

Everything happened very suddenly, leaving us with an enormous financial burden in an extremely short period of time. I am doing everything within my power to help my wife, but I simply do not have enough resources to cover these costs alone.

That is why I am asking our friends, family, community, and anyone who feels moved by Lilian’s situation for help.

Every donation, no matter the amount, can make a meaningful difference and bring us one step closer to having Lilian home.

The funds raised will be used toward:
