Leverne Mouzon was a beloved son, step father, grand father, brother, uncle, a proud Marine, and a true friend to many. At 66 years old, Leverne had lived a life full of service and love. He served his country honorably in the Marines, earning an honorable discharge, and was known for his strength and determination both in and out of uniform. Leverne was also a talented boxer, winning several awards and trophies in Rochester and during his time in the military. His family and friends remember him as someone who always put others first, giving from the heart and blessing everyone he met.
In recent years, Leverne’s health began to decline rapidly, but his spirit and love for his family never wavered. Sadly, he passed away in Atlanta, far from his family in Rochester, NY. Due to unexpected technicalities with his life insurance policy, our family is now facing the challenge of raising the funds needed to bring Leverne home. The costs to ship his body from Atlanta, including embalming, are significant, and we also want to honor him with a proper home going service in Rochester, where his loved ones can say their final goodbyes.
We are reaching out to our community for help during this difficult time. Any amount you can give will go directly toward bringing Leverne home and giving him the farewell he deserves. Leverne was always there for others, and now we hope others can be there for him. Thank you for your kindness, support, and prayers.
