​The holidays are supposed to be a time of joy, but for our family, this Thanksgiving and Christmas have been filled with a deep, painful silence. My husband Lazaro—the pillar of our home and our provider—is currently held in an ICE detention center, (even though he has his work permit, Driver license, I130 interview approved and NO Order Deportation), since then our lives have been put on hold.

​Lazaro is not just a husband and a father; he is the heart of our family. Lazaro is a man who has spent his life serving others, always the first to volunteer at our Church and a constant helping hand in our community. Now, it is he who needs a helping hand.

​The hardest part of this journey is seeing our children suffer. Our youngest daughter is the most heartbroken; every single day, with tears in her eyes, she asks the same question: "When is Daddy coming home?" It is a question that breaks my heart every time because the only thing standing between him and his family is a financial wall we cannot climb alone.

​Our goal is to raise $15,000. This amount is vital to pay the immigration set by the authorities and to cover the necessary legal fees for his immigration attorney. This is the price of his freedom and the chance to return to our family.
