Logline

Late on a seemingly random night, two past lovers discuss their history at a bar, rediscovering each other and learning how to move forward with the acceptance of what was never meant to be.

Director's Statement

LAST CALL is a story about closure. I developed the concept shortly after the worst heartbreak I had ever experienced. It was a young love; passionate and rare. And when it came to its end, I did not know how to say goodbye. Writing this film forced me to look at my own situation from the perspective of who I will be years down the road and to give myself the closure I never received. I wanted to write a story that acknowledges the good times created within our relationships, while also knowing that no matter how much we want it to, sometimes it just does not work out in the end. LAST CALL holds bits and pieces of all the goodbyes I never had the chance to say.

Director's Bio

Hello! My name is Payton Ramsey. I’m a female, queer, Chicago-based filmmaker, currently in my final year of undergrad at DePaul University. I love to produce, write, direct, assistant direct, act, and dabble in a little mix of everything else. I’m excited to have you alongside my journey as I grow into and experience all kinds of opportunities that come my way!

My storytelling explores the interpersonal relationships between people of all ages, races, sexualities, genders, faiths, and backgrounds. I aim to showcase the human experience and the spirit that connects us all with one another. While exposing the facades we subconsciously wear, my stories show how we can only take life day by day, step by step, and moment by moment. And aspire to prove why we must do so together.
