UPDATE: The police department have ruled my sister’s death as a “medical accident” but actual cause of death has not been determined. Our family is trying to adjust and wrap our heads around this.

On April 5th, 2026, after fighting for hours, my beautiful sister Lacy Rust was murdered. She was only 34.

She is a mother, daughter, sister, niece, cousin, & friend. Lacy was a beautiful soul who just wanted the best for her daughter.

I received a Facetime from my non-verbal niece of my sister on the ground unresponsive on April 4th. She died at 12:17 AM Tennessee time on the 5th.

Lacy’s home is Indiana, which is where her family and friends are. We would like to bring her home and bury her next to our father, Denny.

However, my family and I are not in a financial position to cover this cost ourselves. Anything is appreciated and would help lay my sister to rest in peace. All proceeds will go to her entire funeral.
