Kayla’s dad was a family man who loved his wife Kimberly , his daughters, and loved and enjoyed watching his grandbabies grow up. He had a passion for fishing, food, music, and collected matchbox cars whenever he could. With a larger-than-life personality, he was always the hero—fixing things for friends and family, especially cars, and showing his love through his helpful nature. He adored his wife, and they were inseparable for 31 years, building a life together from the time she was a teenager.

After a long illness and multiple heart attacks, life insurance was not an option for Kayla’s dad. Last year, he went into cardiac arrest and, due to hospital neglect, was left without oxygen for nearly 45 minutes. He lost much of his brain function and spent over a month in a coma. When he woke, he was in a minimally conscious state, unable to speak or move much. Over the next year, he faced many health challenges, including untreated pneumonia that led to septic shock and, ultimately, multiple organ failure. He passed away in another state, far from home, after a long and difficult fight.

Kayla’s family spent much of their savings traveling out of state to be by his side during his final year. Now, they are facing the costs of transporting his body to Kentucky and cremation expenses—costs they simply cannot cover. So many people have prayed for Kayla’s dad and family, and that support means so much. Any help would mean the world to Kayla’s family and especially to her mother, who was married to her father for 31 years. All they want is to bring him home.
