I am organizing this fundraiser on behalf of my cousin for my aunt -- the message below is written by my cousin. All donations will go directly toward her mom's medical care, rehabilitation, and the costs of bringing her mom safely home to the Philippines.

I am knocking on your kind hearts with a humble request for my mom, who became critically ill while visiting Tokyo, Japan for her 60th birthday—her very first trip abroad. Please HELP us bring my mom home.

Just two days after arriving, she developed a severe infection that caused her blood pressure to drop to 75/55, her heart rate to rise to 155 beats per minute, and left her disoriented. She was rushed to the hospital by ambulance, where she underwent emergency surgery before being placed in a medically induced coma. She spent several days on life support, dependent on a ventilator. The doctors told us that if treatment had been delayed by even one to two hours, she likely would not have survived.

Today, we are incredibly grateful that she is awake and slowly recovering. She remains under close medical care and is undergoing rehabilitation to relearn basic movements. While we are thankful for her progress, she is still not medically fit to travel back home to the Philippines.

Her hospital bill has continued to grow and has now reached 8.3M Yen (3.1M Php/51K USD), with additional expenses expected as her treatment and rehabilitation continue. Once she is medically cleared to travel, we will also need to arrange for her safe return home, which may require specialized medical transport depending on her condition.

Our family has exhausted every available resource. I have offered my life savings, but it is nowhere near enough to cover the mounting medical expenses.
