It is with heavy hearts that we are asking for support during an incredibly painful and overwhelming time for this family.

Justin Baker, a beloved son, stepson, and friend, passed away unexpectedly in Calgary, Alberta. His sudden loss has left his family devastated and facing emotional and financial challenges no family should ever have to endure.

In the week prior to Justin’s passing, his stepfather Scott was involved in a car accident that resulted in the family’s vehicle being totaled. While still dealing with the aftermath of that accident, Jocelyn and Scott had carefully saved $10,000 to purchase another vehicle so they could continue working and managing daily life.

Tragically, during an evening at their place of work, the money that had been set aside for the vehicle’s purchase was stolen from Jocelyn’s coat pocket. This left the family without transportation and without the funds they had worked hard to save.

Now, while grieving the sudden and heartbreaking loss of Justin, Jocelyn and Scott are also faced with the financial burden of bringing him home to Saskatoon and laying him to rest.

Our goal of $25,000 will help cover funeral and memorial costs, transportation to bring Justin home to Saskatoon, travel expenses for Jocelyn and Scott between Calgary and Saskatoon to handle necessary arrangements, and replace the funds that were stolen and intended to purchase a vehicle after their previous one was totaled.

No family should have to navigate so much loss, stress, and all this uncertainty all at once. Any donation, no matter the amount, will help ease this burden and allow Jocelyn and Scott to focus on honoring Justin’s life and supporting one another during this unimaginable time.

Any funds raised beyond immediate expenses will go directly toward supporting Jocelyn and Scott as they recover from these unexpected hardships and begin the long process of healing.
