Bikram’s Story

Bikram is a young man from Nepal who came to the United States seeking safety, opportunity, and a chance to build an honest life. He comes from a very poor family and took out significant loans in his home country to make this journey.

He has worked with me for over 1.5 years, and in that time he has shown exceptional discipline, integrity, and work ethic. He followed every step required by immigration authorities, attended all scheduled check-ins, and complied fully with the law.

Despite doing everything correctly, he was detained by ICE in June under new regulations. While fighting his asylum case, he remained respectful, calm, and committed to the truth — but his initial case was unfortunately denied by a judge whose handling left little room for fairness.

Why We Are Raising Funds

We now have one final window to keep Bikram safe and give him the fair legal process he deserves.

These funds will cover:

    •    An appeal of the denied asylum case

    •    Legal representation for two simultaneous proceedings

    •    A habeas corpus petition, which could allow him to be released while his case is pending

    •    Potential bond, if approved, which would allow him to return to the community during the process

Estimated costs:

    •    $15,000 for legal fees and the appeal

    •    Up to $10,000 if a bond is granted

I have personally covered all legal expenses up to this point, but these next steps exceed what I can manage alone.
