  • My brother Josh was a very artistic and loving man. During our childhood, he made sure his brothers—myself, Shane Bambrough, the youngest, and our oldest brother, James Kohout—never took a moment for granted. Josh truly embraced his role as the middle child, always supporting us and filling our lives with his high spirits and boundless energy. He loved playing video games like Final Fantasy, and his hugs made you feel like you were the only person that mattered. Josh was known in our family as the lady’s man, with his good looks and olive skin, but it was his vibrant energy that drew people close. He was one of a kind, and I’m grateful to have been his younger brother. He loved making music and writing songs about his life, sharing his experiences through his art. We may have had our differences and even fought at times, but I wouldn’t change a thing—those moments made him my brother. I will forever miss him and wish we could have spent more time together. Josh is survived by his brothers, James Kohout and Shane Bambrough, his mother Stacy Barnard, his aunt Tammy Barnard, his cousins Brook Smith, Kayla Hansen, and David McMurdey, and his Grandma Callie Durst. Joshua’s passing occurred in California, and our family is asking for help to bring his remains home. Any support or donation is deeply appreciated as we honor Joshua’s memory and bring him home to those who love him.
