Our family is devastated and urgently asking for help. On the morning of January 8th around 5:00 a.m., Josefina Rodriguez Lemus and Gabriel Hernandez Gutierrez were taken into ICE custody while on their way to work. There was no warning. In a matter of moments, two hardworking, loved members of our family were taken away, leaving us shocked, heartbroken, and scrambling for answers. Josefina and Gabriel are known for being reliable, kind, and deeply valued by everyone who knows them. They go to work, support themselves, and contribute to their community. They are the kind of people who keep to themselves, help when they can, and show up for others without hesitation. To lose them so suddenly has left a painful void in our family.

We are now facing ourselves with costs for lawyers and legal expenses to help fight this case. The financial burden is more than our family can manage alone. We are asking our community for support during this incredibly difficult time.
