In Loving Memory of Jose Montoya

August 14, 1991 – November 29, 2025

Hi, we are The Montoya Family, and we are organizing this fundraiser on behalf of our beloved Jose Montoya.

On November 29, 2025, Jose passed away unexpectedly while living in California. He was only 34 years old. His sudden passing has left our hearts shattered and has deeply impacted his parents, his brothers, and all of us who loved him.

Our wish and prayer as a family is to bring Jose back home to Alaska, so he can be laid to rest with other family members and so we can hold a proper celebration of life in the place that holds so many of our memories.

In this time of grief, we hold on to the promise that “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” (Psalm 34:18) We ask for your prayers for comfort, peace, and provision as we work to bring Jose home.

We are raising funds to help cover:

• Transportation costs to bring Jose’s body from California back to Alaska

• Funeral home and preparation costs

• Celebration of life and burial expenses

• Any additional fees needed to complete these arrangements

Jose was a kind and humble man, with a gentle heart and many goals and dreams for the future. He leaves behind many who loved him dearly and who will always remember and love him.

We know this is a difficult time for many, and we truly appreciate any help.
