My name is Marisol, and this is my son, Jordan. Jordan is 14 years old. He is profoundly autistic, nonverbal, and has profound intellectual disabilities. He cannot tell me when he is hurting, scared, or sick, so he depends entirely on the people who care for him. Like every mother, my greatest wish has always been to keep my son safe. Several years ago, Jordan moved into a residential group home because his needs became greater than I could manage alone. It was the hardest decision I’ve ever made.
Recently, Jordan has faced repeated hospitalizations and serious medical challenges. Watching him struggle has strengthened my determination to explore every possible way to bring him home with the professional support he needs. My dream is to create a home where Jordan can be surrounded by family while receiving 24-hour care from trained caregivers. I am actively working with state agencies to pursue every available service and support, but there are expenses and transition costs that aren’t immediately covered.
Help Bring Jordan Home. My goal is to bring Jordan home if and when his medical team and the State determine that it can be done safely with the appropriate supports. I am working to prepare for that possibility by raising funds for home modifications, specialized equipment, legal advocacy, transition expenses, and caregiving needs. Any support you can offer means the world to us.
