Help Bring Joe Whitcomb Home

Donation protected
Our friend and classmate Joe Whitcomb tragically passed away on May 18th while working abroad in Krakow, Poland at the age of 57.

Joe was a father, grandfather, sibling, veteran, and psychologist who touched many lives. He served in the Air Force from 1986-1994 before earning his Master's in psychology, working as a trauma therapist. Most recently, he was developing innovative VR therapy programs in Europe. Joseph's adventurous spirit, childlike wonder and love for helping others will be deeply missed.

Sonia has been working tirelessly with the U.S. Embassy, the State Department and officials in Poland to cut through bureaucratic obstacles to bring Joe home. We want to extend a special thank you to Senator Tina Smith for her advocacy on behalf of the family with the State Department and consulate general in Krakow.

The cost to bring Joe home are substantial. This gofundme will be used for the following:
  • Transporting Joe's remains from the Forensic Medical Center to the funeral home in Krakow
  • Cremation in Poland
  • Sending Joe's remains and Joseph's possessions back to the U.S.
  • Miscellaneous expenses

Please considerhelping to relieve this unexpected financial burden and bring Joseph home so that his family and community can say goodbye and honor his memory together. Your support means the world during this difficult time.

Funds will be provided directly to Joseph's daughter Sonia to manage the international logistics and funeral arrangements. We will post updates here as Joseph's repatriation progresses. A memorial service will be held in Princeton at New Life Church at a date in the future.

Thank you so much for your support in celebrating Joe's life and legacy. Please share this campaign with any other classmates or friends who may want to contribute.
