Jodi has been like a mother to me since I was in 2nd grade, and even though she isn’t my biological mom, she holds that place in my heart. Now 81, Jodi has always been a feisty, loving presence in our lives. She moved to Mexico when I was 18, and despite the distance, our bond has only grown stronger over the years. Recently, Jodi was hospitalized in La Paz, Mexico, and her health has taken a serious turn. The hospital has told us she needs surgery, but communication has been incredibly difficult because we don’t speak Spanish. They’ve also said that a family member needs to be present, as her prognosis isn’t good.
My brother Troy, Jodi’s biological son, is doing everything he can to get to her side. Unfortunately, he was recently let go from his job when the company he worked for folded. He already used his savings and 401k to visit her during a previous emergency in July, so he simply doesn’t have the funds to make this trip. Our main goal is to get Troy to his mom, help pack up her things, and bring her back to the States where we can care for her together.
Our family is asking for your support and prayers for our Mother Jodi. She is 81 years old and means the world to us all. We really need to get her back home so we can care for her. We understand times are tough for everyone, so if you can’t help financially, please share this and pray for her. Your kindness and support mean more than words can say.
