Help Bring Jinghua Home: A Loving Family Needs Us Now
An offering from the heart of community

Dear friends, neighbours, and compassionate hearts,

My name is Tanya, and I have had the sacred honor of walking beside Jinghua’s family over these past weeks—offering presence, prayer, and love as they search for their beloved wife, daughter, sister, and mother.

In the early morning hours of February 23rd, Jinghua (also known as Vita) left home and never returned.
She was last seen near Crescent Beach in Surrey, British Columbia.

This was not a walk for leisure or reflection—something more complex was unfolding that morning. Jinghua was navigating something tender and difficult, as many of us do in the quiet places of our lives. We may never fully know what she was carrying, but what we do know is this: she is deeply loved, and her family is doing everything they can to bring her home.

Who Jinghua Is — Before the Storm

Before this heartbreaking chapter began, Jinghua was living a quiet, beautiful life as a loving mother, devoted wife, and kind friend. She has always been someone who offers her presence with gentle grace—nurturing her children, supporting her family, and showing up for others with quiet strength and care.

She moved between two cultures and countries with resilience and grace, navigating life between Canada and China to support her family. She raised her children with warmth, prepared meals that nourished both body and spirit, and cared for the small moments that make a home feel like home.

She is also a woman of complexity and depth—like all of us. There may have been things she was holding silently, parts of her story that unfolded quietly, with few knowing the full weight of what she carried. What we do know is this: the shift that led to her disappearance came quickly. And since that moment, her family has been living a waking nightmare no one should have to endure.

Out of love, we offer these words with deep care—not to speculate, but to honor. To speak to the fullness of Jinghua’s humanity, the strength of her spirit, and the beauty of her presence that still lives in the hearts of those who know and love her.

She is a mother. A daughter. A sister. A beloved friend.
She is missed more than words can say.

Jinghua’s Family

Jinghua is the heart of her family. Her absence is felt in every breath, every silence, every dream her children wake from with tears in their eyes.
• Alex, her husband, is moving between Canada and China, trying to hold the pieces together for their children while continuing the search. Even in his grief, he checks on others—he once worried that I might be cold in the rain.
• Their two children are aching for their mother’s arms, for the meals she made, the comfort she gave, the way she held their world together. They dream of her. They cry for her. They are being so brave.
• Jinghua’s father, soft-spoken and grieving, brought pizza for my daughter during a search gathering—his only smile that day was when he gently motioned for her to eat, then insisted she take the leftovers home. Even in sorrow, he gave.
• Her mother, in China, is anchoring the children’s daily life with quiet devotion—preparing meals, supporting their schooling, and holding them through heartbreak.
• Her brother, exhausted yet unwavering, has spent day after day searching through wind, rain, and uncertainty—refusing to give up on his sister.

This is a family full of love. Of tenderness. Of strength.
