As some of you may know my world-traveling sometimes vagabond of a father, Jim, suffered a serious blow to his health last year ending up in the hospital for months. His strong spirit and years of bike riding and yoga have kept him alive, thank goodness! We are so grateful to the UK health care system and his friends in the UK who cared for him for months in the hospital. However, we now face the difficult decision of needing to get Jim back to the US for more ongoing care nearer his family. His partner, Catherine, has done the best she can, but the UK system is not available for more extended care for him and his needs have grown. Jim needs to be back in the US near his family, and the support system he needs most at this stage of his life.

We urgently need to return Jim to the US so he can receive the medical attention and nursing care he deserves. Unfortunately, his resources are limited, and the costs involved in bringing him home safely, securing medical transport, and arranging for both in-home and nursing home care are overwhelming. Our family is doing everything we can, but we cannot do it alone.
