Jesus Graterol and his wife and 2 children fled a difficult and dangerous situation in Venezuela, seeking a better life in the United States. He is a hardworking father of two children, a devoted husband and always striving to provide for his loved ones. Over the past three years, Jesus and his family have been working through the legal process to become citizens. He obtained a work permit, tax ID, and driver's license, and has become an active and valued member of our community. He coaches baseball, volunteers his time, and is always ready to lend a helping hand to others in our community.
Recently, the temporary protection status (TPS) program was abruptly terminated. After 3 yrs of complying with all the requirements from Immigration officials on the path towards citizenship, during a routine scheduled meeting, Jesus was unexpectedly handcuffed and detained by ICE. This has left his family devasted and uncertain of their future. They are now facing significant emotional and financial challenges as they work to secure legal representation, expedite a hearing for his release, and pay a bond. The sudden change in the immigration program has put their future at risk, and they need urgent help to release Jesus from detention and deportation.
Jesus has always been a strong supporter of his community, and now his family needs the community's support in return. I have known Jesus for over 3 yrs; we have coached our boys together, He has spent countless hours teaching kids advanced baseball skills. He has helped many in our community in various ways. His wife Leskik is a loving wife who has dedicated her life to raising her sons. She is currently at home with an ankle monitor, mandated by ICE, doing her best to take care of her children. We are reaching out to friends, neighbors, and anyone who can help. Your contribution, no matter the size, will make a real difference in reuniting this family and giving them hope for the future. Please consider supporting the Graterol family during this difficult time.
