Update (03/28): Jessica is out of the hospital and staying locally in Aruba until she’s medically cleared to travel. That process may take some time. For now we’ve closed the GoFundMe at the current amount — those funds will help cover immediate expenses and the local medical fees while she waits to learn whether insurance will approve a medical transport or she’ll need to remain in Aruba until cleared.

(3/24) If you know Jessica Burhop, you know she is the kind of person who shows up for others without hesitation—kind, selfless, and always there when someone needs her. Today, she needs us. Jessica was on a family vacation cruise, a time meant for rest and making memories, when the unexpected happened. She developed two pulmonary embolisms—a serious and life-threatening condition that required immediate emergency care. She is currently hospitalized in Aruba, far from home, family, and her trusted medical providers. Unfortunately, Jessica’s insurance has not yet confirmed coverage for her care overseas. Her medical bills have already reached a significant amount and continue to rise each day. To make matters even more difficult, Jessica is not yet cleared to fly, meaning she may need to remain in Aruba for weeks. This brings additional costs for lodging, daily living expenses, and lost income, as her husband is unable to work while staying by her side. This is where we can come together. Every donation—no matter the amount—will go directly toward Jessica’s expenses surrounding this durring her hospital visit and until her release and ability to get back to the US.
