If you’re reading this, you’re one step closer to helping out one of the most caring human beings out there.  Jaime has been sick for months without knowing what was causing any of his symptoms. After being hospitalized for over a month now and getting tests after tests, doctors have identified an underlying infection in his aorta (part of body responsible for transporting oxygen rich blood from your heart to the rest of your body).This has led to every heart beat of his to spread bacterial spores throughout his body and consequently affecting his ability to produce red blood cells. There is a time sensitive heart surgery that is pivotal to his recovery. The caveat here is his rare blood type (O-); if anyone were to ever require blood Jaime can donate to everyone but the reverse is not true for him. Jaime can ONLY receive his own blood type. Through vast searching, we have had little to no luck finding a donor for him. Only 7% of those living in the United States have O negative blood, therefore it is considered liquid gold. The only way to continue with his surgery is to pay out of pocket for all the pints he requires since we have not had luck finding donors. He needs blood now, during surgery, and thereafter until his body recovers and is able to maintain its own blood supply. I am hopeful you can assist our family, much love.
