Help bring “Jackrabbit” to life: Jared Hogan’s feature debut

In 1930s Utah, Jackrabbit follows coal miner T.A. Diamond, who breaks his hand in a mining accident and is quietly let go when he can no longer pull his weight. But when he hides the truth from his family, the lie begins to fester, triggering a slow, inevitable collapse.

We’re planning to shoot in late August through early September across various California locations. Jackrabbit is a SAG ultra-low budget film with a lean crew of under 20, and while we’re keeping things nimble, we’re going all in to make this period piece as striking as possible.

Our team’s past work has screened at Sundance, Cannes, and SXSW all within the past year and we’re bringing that same level of ambition to this film.

We’re currently working to close a financing gap. While we’re full steam ahead regardless, bridging that gap would allow us to put significantly more production value on screen. Specifically in design, wardrobe and hair & makeup.

Pulling off a 1930s-set story on a shoestring isn’t easy, but we’re doing everything we can to make something unforgettable. If you’re interested in contributing, it would go a long way toward making that a reality.

We know these kinds of projects aren’t easy to pull off, but that’s part of what makes them so special. Thank you for helping bring Jackrabbit to life.
