Help bring Itzel home after tragic loss of both parents

Donation protected
I never imagined I would ever have to write something like this. My fiancé, Itzel, is living through a heartbreak no one should ever have to face — and now we are fighting a battle simply to bring her home.
Last week on November 19, Itzel received the kind of phone call that destroys a world in seconds: both of her parents had passed away tragically in Guadalajara, Mexico.
We got on the first flight we could. What she walked into was unimaginable. She had to say goodbye to both of her parents at the same time… and without a moment to grieve, she was forced to step into the role of sole caregiver for her two younger brothers — the youngest only 16 years old. There is no one else to care for them. She is all they have left.

An Even More Devastating Blow
In the middle of her grief, we were blindsided again. After meeting with an immigration lawyer, we learned that Itzel may not be allowed to return to Canada, the place she has called home for years. Even in the best-case scenario, the process could take months — likely even longer.
And then came another heartbreaking twist:
Her youngest brother, Santiago, begged her not to leave him behind. At 16, after losing both parents, he cannot bear to lose the only steady support he has left.
This means we are now preparing not for one immigration case, but two — one for Itzel, and one for her younger brother to come back to Canada with her.

Why We Need Help;

Itzel must remain in Mexico for at least six months, because of immigration and because of her brothers. She refuses to abandon them in their darkest moment.
But the financial strain is overwhelming. We are suddenly responsible for:
• Funeral costs for both parents
• Six months of living expenses for Itzel and her brothers
• Immigration legal fees to fight for her return to Canada
• Additional legal fees for Santiago’s case
• Therapy for both boys after unimaginable trauma
• Translations, filings, documents, and government fees
• Transportation, food, school costs, and daily care

All of this hit overnight. There was no way to prepare for a tragedy like this.

Our Goal
We are asking for help to raise $30,000 — the amount needed to stabilize her brothers, cover the legal processes, and give Itzel and Santiago a real chance to return home to the life we’ve built in Canada.
This is not just financial support.
This is helping a daughter who had to bury both her parents at once… A sister fighting to keep her family together… A young woman terrified that she may never be allowed back to the home, community, and future she has created in Canada.

How You Can Help
If you can donate, thank you — truly, from the bottom of our hearts. If you can’t, sharing this campaign means more than you know. Every share is a lifeline.
Please keep Itzel and her brothers in your prayers as they face the hardest chapter of their lives.
Your kindness is what is holding them together right now.
