Irene Kimmel, our beloved friend, mother, and sister, died suddenly at her home on the island of Cyprus last week. Irene was a fun and vivacious soul, loved by everyone who came in contact with her. We hope to know soon what caused her untimely death.

Irene was born in Santa Cruz, California where her son Darren and brother Brian now live. They need to bring her home to be with her recently departed mother and where she would want to be. Irene cherished her family and the recent loss of her mother was devastating to her.

Irene and her mother will be buried with their family on the island of Palau, where her mother was born and their extended family remains.

The cost to bring her to her final resting place is going to be extraordinary. Irene’s family will need support for the lengthy trip to Cyprus to bring Irene home and settle her affairs. The costs for repatriation and cremation alone are quite extensive, including the necessary approval to transport her. These costs will be crushing to her family.

Please help with what you can to assist Darren and Brian with bringing Irene home. Every dollar will help bring them closer to the needed funds so that she isn’t left in a foreign land away from her family, and her family doesn’t bear a permanent financial burden from this sad and heartbreaking experience.
