My name is Fran, and I have had the privilege of working alongside Irene for over 10 years at Veterinary United, most recently in the Sympathy & Grief department. For the past three years, Irene and I worked hand in hand to grow and strengthen this program—a program that truly means the world to her.

Irene has always been a source of comfort and strength for so many. She listens without judgment, supports with compassion, and has been a steady rock for anyone in need. Her dedication even brought her to Colorado to complete another continuing education course, deepening her knowledge so she could better guide others through the grieving process.

While at this conference, Irene unexpectedly became very ill and has been hospitalized there for nearly a month. As you can imagine, the weight of medical expenses has placed her family under tremendous hardship. More than anything, we believe bringing Irene back home to Michigan—where she can heal surrounded by her family, friends, and the community she has given so much to—would help her recovery. Sadly, the cost of medical transportation on top of her mounting medical bills feels out of reach for her family right now.

I know many of us are navigating our own challenges, but even the smallest gesture could make a difference. If each of us could give even $10, together it would add up to something powerful—something that might help bring Irene home where she belongs to heal.
