Help Bring "i see" To Life

Hello, my name is Gibson and I am a Los Angeles-based composer studying at the University of Southern California’s Thornton School of Music.

In May of this year, I began conceptualizing and composing the music for i see, a dance film looking to answer the question: How do we create art that is both extremely intimate and infinitely expansive? A short while later, I pitched this project to my good friend and previous collaborator, Tyler Chang, and they agreed to choreograph the film. We are thrilled to present this project in collaboration with the Movement in Motion Collective, an organization committed to creating spaces for interdisciplinary collaboration between dancers, filmmakers, musicians, and other creatives. Alongside producers Arjun Kochhar, Josey Cuthrell-Tuttleman, and director Olivia Brancato, we are excited to begin the creative process for i see!

About i see

Exploring themes of intimacy and perspective, i see examines physical and emotional vulnerability, both on an individual and interpersonal level. The work looks to answer the question: How do we create art that is both extremely intimate and infinitely expansive? We hope to present art that explores how different perspectives influence how we view art and subsequently, how we view the world.
