Hello, my name is Tiffany. I am starting this gofundme on behalf of my cousin, Christina and her husband, Nexan. It is with broken hearts and tearful eyes that our family is living through this nightmare. Nexan has been taken into custody by ICE and torn away from his wife, Christina, but most importantly, his twin boys, Jhon and Damian. Nexan is a hard working business owner, loving father and caring husband. He is the sole provider for his family who deserves to stay here. Please take the time to read Christina’s message and help us reach our goal to get the necessary funds to pay for his legal fees and bring him home to his family.
My Dearest Friends, Family, and Kind Strangers,
My name is Christina, and I am writing to you today with a heart shattered into a million pieces, pleading for your help during the most terrifying and unjust time of my life. My incredible husband, Nexan Aroldo Asencio Corado, the devoted father of our three-year-old twin boys, Jhon and Damian, and the rock of our family, was wrongfully taken from us. He was snatched away in a moment that will forever haunt our memories, leaving our innocent sons crying out for their Papi as he was led away.
The day Nexan was taken started like any other, but it quickly spiraled into a nightmare. It was May 30th, 2025, when ICE agents wrongfully grabbed him, looking for someone else—a person who supposedly looked like him. Nexan was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time, completely unaware that he was about to become a victim of a terrible mistake. Nexan has never been in trouble with the law. He has no criminal record, no history of any kind of wrongdoing. He is a good, honest, hardworking man. Yet, they took him.
What makes this injustice even more unbearable is the blatant lie we were told. When Nexan was detained, we were assured that if we could provide proof of his approved I-130 petition – a crucial step towards his legal residency here in the United States – they would let him go. We rushed, gathering every document, every piece of evidence, filled with a glimmer of hope that this nightmare would end. We presented the proof. We showed them his approved status, a testament to his legal journey and his right to be here with his family. But they didn't let him go. They broke their promise, shattering our hope and tearing our family apart.
Nexan came to the United States from Guatemala when he was very young. This is the only home he has ever truly known since leaving his country. He built a beautiful life here with me. He is not a threat to anyone. He is an integral part of our community, known for his kindness, his unwavering work ethic, and his infectious smile. He is a man who wakes up every day ready to provide for his family, to contribute to society, and to be the best father and husband he can be.
And he is. He is a wonderful husband, my partner in everything, my best friend. He is a great, loving father to Jhon and Damian, who adore him beyond measure. To watch our three-year-old twin boys, their little voices full of confusion and fear, cry out for their Papi as he was taken away from them… it’s a pain no parent, no child, should ever have to endure. They ask for him constantly, their innocent faces etched with a longing that I can barely bear to witness. How do you explain to a three-year-old that their daddy was taken because of a mistake, because of a lie?
This wrongful detainment has plunged our family into an unforeseen crisis. We are now facing an immense financial burden. The legal fees to fight this injustice are staggering. We need funds for lawyers, for bond, for all the unforeseen expenses that come with fighting for Nexan’s freedom and his right to be reunited with his family. On top of that, being alone with twin three-year-olds, trying to navigate this emotional and financial turmoil, is taking a massive hit on us. The emotional toll is indescribable, and the financial strain is becoming unbearable.
Nexan is well known and loved by so many. He is a good man, a family man, and he deserves to be home. We are fighting with every fiber of our being to bring him back to his sons, back to his home, back to his life. But we cannot do it alone.
We are humbly asking for your support. Any amount, no matter how small, will make a profound difference in our ability to fight for Nexan. Your generosity will help us cover legal costs, bond, and the daily expenses of keeping our family afloat during this incredibly difficult time. More than just financial aid, your support will be a beacon of hope, a testament that we are not alone in this fight for justice.
Please, open your hearts and consider supporting our family. Share our story, spread the word, and help us bring Nexan back home where he belongs. We are forever grateful for your compassion, your kindness, and your unwavering support.
With deepest gratitude,
Christina Asencio Corado
