On the morning of June 27th, 2026, Eleazar Garcia Nieto was coming into the job he has not only been employed at for over 15 years, but is currently the head chef when he was detained by ICE. An immediate sense of disgust, anger, and aching of our hearts set in. Eleazar Garcia has been a pillar of the community for over a decade. He comes to work every day to work and provide for his family, including his beautiful wife and 9-year-old little girl. A family that had no idea when they said goodbye that morning, they would not only not see him after that, without any explanation. Day in and day out, Eleazar has done nothing but provide all of us with his grace, kindness, and humor. He has been helping make some of the most memorable times for families beyond special by being one of the best chefs we have had the pleasure of working for. From New Year's Eve parties and weddings to small gatherings, Eleazar always treats everyone exactly the same regardless of who they were or what they looked like, because that's the kind of man he has always been, compassionate. Now, once again, a family is left devastated, and the primary source of income is suddenly gone. Now this man, who's worked, paid taxes, and did nothing but put smiles on the faces of hundreds of strangers, is calling one of the worst, most inhumane ICE detention centers, home.
Any and all donations will provide and help with legal representations, immigration bonds, help the family with any assistance in rent, utilities, groceries, and child care, and detention communication in order to be able to provide Eleazar with the ability to speak with his family and if possible legal counsel.
