Henry was found by us as an abandoned and starving stray on the mean (ok, not so mean!) streets of East London in 2025. When he was brought to Cats Protection, he was known as “Whiskers”.

A year ago, he was given a brand new life (and a brand new name!) by a retired teacher called Paul.

Paul and Henry settled into a happy, quiet life and moved a few weeks ago down to leafy Sutton. Last Thursday, sadly, Henry was hit by a speeding motorist on a quiet residential street. It was a miracle that he survived and that a good Samaritan passing by scooped him up unconscious and took him to the local vets.

Being a strong boy Henry survived the collision and is in critical care in the Ralph Hospital in Marlow. The good news is he will recover to have a near-normal life, but he has required hospital treatment and ICU care. The hope is he will be well enough to be released from critical care in the next week or so.

We are crowdfunding to help Paul, who is of limited means, with the hospital bills, which he has been told can be anything up to £10,000.
