This story is about bringing hope back to a broken girl. My hope is you will read her story and if there is a tug at your heart, you will join us in prayer and giving to be a part of the restoration she is bravely seeking.
There once was a girl who loved to ride horses. The sun on her back, wind on her face, and the sound of galloping hooves on the fresh soil brought her joy and peace. Fast forward some years and this sweet girl full of hopes and dreams experienced an unspeakable trauma that no person should have to endure. This trauma brought pain, embarrassment, shame, sadness, loss, depression, and a darkness she didn’t know how to deal with. It consumed her silently. To shut the pain out, she turned to more destructive choices. She was not equipped to deal with such heaviness and pain her heart. None of us would be.
Her mother did everything she could to help her sweet daughter cope with the weight of her pain. After several painful incidences, this family now has their daughter in a rehabilitation center for 30 days to help guide her through healing and teach her to seek hope again. This story has tugged at my heart because I had a close family member struggle with addiction too (which is not the only battle she is facing, but a big one in itself). It brought tears and pain to see someone I loved suffer. I wrote a letter to a judge asking for him to force rehabilitation. The judge did. This person I loved was healed. He is vibrant and back to himself and has been clean ever since. My heart cries out to see this healing and hope given to this young girl too.
When I heard that lack of insurance coverage could cause stress for this family during this healing process I felt moved to do something. The mom was let go of her job when her daughter first experienced the trauma. She needed to take some personal time off to be with her daughter, and the company chose to let her go instead. I don’t want to see mom stress over the financial burden to get her daughter the help she needs. I know the mother would do anything needed to get her daughter the help she needs. She would be homeless on the street before she ignored her daughter’s needs. But I don’t want to see her do that. I want to see them walk through this without the cost even being a thought. So I, and her mother humbly ask that you consider giving what you can to support the process needed for this sweet girl to cope, heal, and move forward in a positive direction. This is an urgent request as she is currently undergoing healing now and will need more than the 30 days for all the issues she is facing.
If you feel a tug at your heart like I did, please consider sharing this with people in your community and networks who could give a little too. Thank you in advance for any prayers and donations you feel moved to give. God Bless you.
