[italics = updates for 2023+]
I’m Dr. Sudoku, a four-time world champion across puzzles and sudoku. I’m also an empathetic human being and try to solve things creatively.
The world has been an impossible puzzle for me since the pandemic. I bet it has been for you too. When this gofundme was started in 2022, I worked at an immune medicine company building tools for studying T cells to get to better diagnostics and better vaccines where we can. I don’t need the money right now that my prior ideas has given me in my past. I need to keep my innovative team innovating and this is one way I can do that.
[deleted paragraph for 2023; initial 2022 donations were matched and shared with them]: To help me, add to the $100,000 seed I’ll match fully to be able to give some joy back to Melissa and Taylor, my two team members who were laid off last Tuesday as part of a sudden workforce reduction. If they want to share it with other co-workers in the same situation, that is their choice to make the impact bigger and grow the love. This hurt to my (work) family is hurting my productivity. Help me help them.
Maybe we get enough if we share to give a #pennytoeveryone in the world. The funding target is now the value of those pennies but we may need more to share them with the world. The amount might not matter, just seeing a small sign of grace when we are all exhausted and needing hope. It costs more to make a penny than its worth (or so they say). Waste is easy to find. Innovation and courage much harder.
