Help Bring Gina Home for Recovery

Currently, Gina is still in the ICU, fighting hard. We still have a long road ahead of us, but it's easy to see that she is not giving up. There have been some ups and downs, but for now, we are looking up. Please continue to offer up your prayers for comfort and peace.

Gina Salmans is a loving mother, wife, and friend who has always put others first. Her recent stroke was sudden and has left her incapacitated, which has been a shock to everyone who knows her. Gina is currently receiving care in Lakewood, Colorado, far from her home in Cimarron, Kansas. Several family members, including her husband Bruce, her children, in-laws, and other relatives, have traveled to be by her side, staying in hotels near the hospital. The distance and uncertainty have placed a heavy emotional and financial burden on all of us.

Our goal is to bring Gina closer to Phoenix where we can ensure her care closer to home. The medical team has given us two options for her transfer: a long ambulance ride or an air transport. While air transport would be much faster and safer for Gina, both options are extremely expensive and beyond what our families can afford. We are also facing ongoing hotel costs and the unknowns of future medical bills, as we are unsure how much insurance will cover. Once Gina is able to be discharged, we plan to care for her in our home in Phoenix.

Gina has always been there for others in their time of need, and now we are asking for help on her behalf. Any support will go directly toward her medical transfer and related expenses, helping us reunite our family and give Gina the best chance at recovery.
