My mom, Georgia Lynn Pearl, was only 46 years old when she unexpectedly passed away on April 17th, 2026. Just the day before, she was admitted to Northwest Health in Laporte, Indiana, after being found unresponsive in her bedroom where she had been taking a nap. When she was found, a police officer and emergency personnel were the first to arrive on the scene. They immediately started CPR and continued their efforts until she arrived at the ER, where the doctors and nurses took over and worked to save her. They managed to get her pulse back a couple of times, but ultimately, her condition was too severe. The decision was made to put her on life support so her kids, mom, aunt, sister, and loved ones could say their final goodbyes. Losing her so suddenly has been more difficult than words can express. At such a young age, she faced many health problems, and in the end, her organs, including her heart and brain, could no longer keep up. My mom was an organ donor, and although her organs had failed, we were able to donate her beautiful eyes to help someone else in need. While we are heartbroken, we take comfort in knowing she is no longer in pain or suffering, and that a part of her will live on to help another. Because her passing was so unexpected, she did not have life insurance and was not on Medicaid, which means the state of Indiana will not help with her cremation. We are planning a private celebration of her life at a later time. The funeral home has requested funds for the cremation and care of her remains, which includes an obituary and a small box for her ashes. We are asking for a little more than what the funeral home is requiring for her so we can purchase multiple small urns to keep a part of her with us always. The funds raised will go directly toward her cremation and bringing her home to her family, just as she would have wanted. If people do not see fit to donate here, they are welcome to call Lakeview Funeral Home & Crematory and make a direct donation. Any support would mean the world to us during this difficult time. If anything is left over after caring for her remains, we will use it to get multiple urns for her to rest peacefully forever in.
