Hi, my name is Ashish. I'm a university engineering student in Perth, WA, and I’m helping a dear family friend, Prateek, raise funds for his beloved father-in-law, Gautam Kaka.

For over a month now, Gautam Kaka has been in the hospital here in Perth. Despite bills for incentive care totalling more than $100,000, his condition remains undiagnosed. Watching him endure this painful journey without answers has been heartbreaking for everyone who loves him. The emotional and financial strain on the family has been enormous - and the medical bills are still mounting.

While Kaka was covered by insurance, unfortunately, his condition and the treatments required fell outside the scope of what the policy could cover. This has left the family facing a devastating financial burden, even after accounting for what insurance could provide.

With the support of his doctors, the family now has a hopeful path forward: Kaka can be transferred to Mumbai, India, where he can receive continued treatment at a much more affordable cost. But to make this possible, we urgently need help covering the outstanding bills and the cost of getting him home.

Prateek, who is leading this effort, is the kind of person who always shows up for others. He balances full-time work, part-time studies, family life, and community leadership as current President of the Marathi Association Perth. Now, it's our turn to show up for him - and for Gautam Kaka, whose kindness and spirit have touched so many.
