Our family is heartbroken to share the sudden passing of our Father Gary Fletcher.
On December 23rd at around 7:30 PM, Gary was struck by a pickup truck while crossing the street in Meridian, Idaho and he passed away instantly. His loss was unexpected and devastating and it has left our family trying to grieve while also facing difficult decisions and expenses we were not prepared for.
Gary was more than a Father, he was a storyteller, a presence, and someone who brought people together. He was social, warm, and loved his family above all else. Time spent with him was filled with stories, laughter, and connection. He was a Veteran and also served in the National Guard, something our family is proud of and that speaks to the kind of man he was.
He was a father, brother, uncle, grandfather, great grandfather, and a great friend to so many. He was such a kind man. Always thinking about others.
Gary was originally from Enterprise, Oregon, and it was important to him — and to us — that he be laid to rest there. We are asking for help with the transportation costs to bring him home, along with general funeral and memorial expenses which are still being finalized. If there are any remaining funds, they will be used for related expenses as our family navigates this loss.
We are planning a celebration of life in the Meridian area for all his family and friends to attend. His funeral will be in Enterprise, OR. We do not have dates for either yet. His daughters (Melissa, and Megan) will be the main points of contact for these details. We will update dates on here as well as our Facebook pages when it is all planned.
If you’re unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser means just as much and helps us more than you know.
Thank you for supporting our family during this incredibly difficult time and for helping us honor Gary’s life with the dignity and love he deserves. We find comfort in knowing he is in Heaven now reunited with his Mother, Father and Sister that he loved so much ❤️
